The spectrometer assembly contains a dual-thoriated filament ion source, analyzer assembly, detector with preamplifier, rough and high-vacuum gauging, and the high-vacuum pump. Testing with the 990 dCLD is accomplished by connecting a test fixture and valves to the foreline of the spectrometer's high vacuum Turbo or MacroTorr pump. The Turbo configuration allows test pressures of up to 500 mTorr, while the MacroTorr tests to over 5 Torr.
Configuration setups and diagnostics can be performed using the 990 dCLD's rear panel serial interface, or by local front panel connection to a hand-held setup/display pendant.
