MS-17
The MS-17 leak detector used a split sector spectrometer tube. The MS-17 Cee tube eliminates the spurious background under a wide range of pressure.
MS-90
The MS-90 used a "Vee Tube." detecting one part of helium in 10 million parts or air, or leaks of 10-10 cc/seconds. Even smaller leaks can be detected with accumulation techniques by partially isolating the pumps with the accumulator valve. The unit may be operated at coarser sensitivity, by means of the 1,000 to 1 scale factor switch on the leak indicator. The helium content of the atmosphere can be detected easily, giving a full scale indication.
