Job Opportunity: Electronics Test Technician
General Job Description
As a member of the Power Supply team, you will be responsible for performing diverse and complex assignments in support of the refurbishment of major name brands of RF and DC power supplies. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: setup and running of test equipment for acceptance testing, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting tests results.
Responsibilities
The preferred skills include strong electronics abilities combined with instrumentation skills. In this key role you will:
- Perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Recommend, design and conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions and solutions.
- Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.
- Serve as the technical expert on new repair introductions by providing feedback to engineering and manufacturing personnel as new repairs are developed and new procedures are implemented
- Provide evaluation, constructive feedback, and leadership in the development of internal or external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation.
- Writes or assists in the development of test plans and test procedures
- Completes assigned test/repair related tasks
- Works well in a team environment and as an individual contributor
- Has the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the company
Education and Experience
The candidate must have a demonstrated record of achievement and growth over a minimum of 4 years as a Test Technician in the area of micro-controlled high energy power supplies. An Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
- Working knowledge of Cadence ORCAD Schematic capture tool is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of writing LabView programs is highly desirable
- Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office tools is required
- Proficient in the use of various PCB soldering tools/techniques is required
- Excellent communication skills are essential
